ITINERARY

Day 1 – ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH

Arrive Christchurch and collect your Budget Rental Car upon arrival.. Just a short 20 minute drive into the City to check into your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure before joining the Christchurch Tramway Restaurant for a relaxing city circuit including a five-course meal. Day 2 – CHRISTCHURCH to TERRACE DOWNS RESORT

Travel south on SH1 before turning inland towards the mighty Southern Alps to reach five-star Terrace Downs Resort, situated less than an hours drive from Christchurch. Located at the foothills of the Southern Alps the scenery is amazing. Tee off this afternoon on this 6,400 metre course; be careful of the views as many a golfer blames their lack of focus for their missed putts. Overnight accommodation Terrace Downs Resort

Day 3 – TERRACE DOWNS RESORT to WANAKA

A superb drive today through the heart of the South Island. Watch the scenery develop and change with every corner, travelling past the Glacier Lakes of Tekapo and Pukaki, turn off to Mt Cook Village for a bite of lunch and fantastic mountain scenery. An afternoon arrival into Wanaka gives you plenty of free time to enjoy the facilities of your resort, take a scenic cruise on the lake or alternatively a thrilling jet boat ride with Clutha River Jet. Day 4 -WANAKA GOLF DAY

Today you have a full day to enjoy this picturesque resort and a round of 18 holes at Wanaka Golf Club. This course features challenging golf and absolutely stunning scenery of Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps. Wanaka is home to the Warbirds Museum only 5 minutes from town and well worth a visit.

Day 5 – WANAKA to QUEENSTOWN

Travelling over the Crown Range into Queenstown, just under an hour’s drive. Check into your accommodation before heading out to Kelvin Heights Golf Course nestled on the point overlooking beautiful Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkables Mountains as your backdrop. Enjoy an amazing array of choice at the top of the Skyline Gondola for dinner tonight overlooking the lake and the village of Queenstown. Day 6 – MILFORD SOUND DAY TRIP

Today you will join Real Journeys for a return day trip to Milford Sound, heading south along the lake’s edge on your way to Lake Te Anau this morning. Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland National Park at the bottom of New Zealand’s rugged West Coast. Travelling through lower Hollyford Valley before reaching Homer Tunnel for your decent into the sounds. Here you will enjoy a scenic nature cruise that travels the length of the sound to the Tasman Sea, view stunning Mitre Peak and majestic Bowen Falls in this truly remarkable location.

Day 7 – MILLBROOK GOLF DAY

This morning enjoy the amazing setting and course that is Millbrook. Recognised as one of the finest alpine golf courses in the world. It is relatively wide open and trouble free for golfers of all abilities. This afternoon hop on board the Kawarau Jet for a one hour scenic and thrilling jet boat ride across Lake Wakatipu and up the Shotover River before returning to the village. Enjoy the many activities, shops and restaurants of this alpine resort this afternoon.

Day 8 – JACKS POINT GOLF DAY

The newest golf course to the region, this course works in with nature and not against it. Designed with minimal excavation, the course measures 6338 metres from the championship tees and is built on the most spectacular of Jack’s Point terrain. The course weaves through tussock grasslands, dramatic rock outcrops, steep bluffs and swathes of native bush to the edge of Lake Wakatipu. This afternoon is your last chance to explore Queenstown, or sit back and enjoy a relaxing drink on the edge of Lake Wakatipu.

Day 9 – QUEENSTOWN to DUNEDIN

A leisurely drive from Queenstown today, you start your journey out through Central Otago pass the weathered rock formations and the ancient mountains before approaching Dunedin, the “Edinburgh of the South”. This afternoon check out the local attractions such as Speights Brewery, Cadbury Chocolate Factory or Larnach Castle, the only castle in the Southern Hemisphere. Day 10 – St CLAIR GOLF DAY

Tee off this morning at St Clair Golf Club, created in 1905 offering an excellent round of 18 holes, with views of the ocean and Dunedin City. This afternoon join Monarch Wildlife Cruises for a scenic eco-cruise from Wellers Rock giving unrivalled viewing of the Royal Albatross, seals, bird and marine life along the Otago Peninsula.

Day 11 – DUNEDIN to CHRISTCHURCH

Heading north today travelling out over the rolling countryside towards Canterbury. Stop at the famous Moreaki Boulders to see these unique rock formations before reaching Oamaru famous for its World Heritage listed limestone buildings. From here continue along SH1 with the changing coastal and pastoral views through Timaru and Ashburton to reach the Garden City of Christchurch and your last stop. Day 12 – Christchurch

A morning tee off at the home of the New Zealand PGA Championship, Clearwater Resort, opened in 2002. The course is built around a series of man-made lakes, bringing water into play on 14 holes. The setting gives it a unique style of looking like an Old World links course and an American Parkland course. This afternoon wander the city or stay and enjoy lunch at Clearwater. Return to your accommodation in time for your pick up for tonight’s evening tour which offers you two of the must see attractions, the kiwi and a Maori Cultural performance. Your tour commences at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve where you will be treated with a cultural performance consisting with traditional Maori greeting, songs and dances. After the performance enjoy a buffet style dinner before you commence your tour of the Reserve where you will see the Kiwi in its natural habitat. Then on completion of your tour of the reserve you will be returned to your accommodation or dropped off at the Christchurch Casino.

Day 13 – Depart Christchurch

Today is at leisure before returning your rental vehicle to Budget for your return journey home.
